It is in the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum and worth the price of admission just on it's own. Not only did we get a nice education, but you could almost feel what it was like to be the lighthouse keeper. We were the only people...More

Well done exibits and signs tell how life was in a lighthpuse, and has what they know about some of the tenders. Very well preserved, and give s agreat view of the area. Really one of the neatest things in the maritime museum.

You can actually walk up inside of the lighthouse and tour around to see how they lived in it back in the day. Great view of the bay once you're up at top too. You do have to bend over to get to the outside...More

Originally located on Hooper Straight this lighthouse is part of the Maritime Museum. Touring the facility can give you a insight into how the caretaker worked and lived.

I really enjoyed the history in this lighthouse. It's a do touch museum instead of so many that say don't touch! We went to the top floor and looked all around. It makes you aware of what life was like to the people who manned...More

We all learned a lot about lighthouses here. We have been to other ones but this one had a lot more information and you can go to the top. You can also ring the bell for the fog. Definitely recommend doing when you visit the...More

Part of the Maritime Museum 'campus', so you have to pay the admission to the Maritime Museum to get into the area. I think it's definitely worth it to support their work on the Chesepeake Bay. NOTE: The admission sticker allows you to come for...More

The stairs are steep and not for the unhealthy visitor but the presented history of those who lived the hermit like existence on this lighthouse is worth the steep climb upward to visit.

I really should have poured over the reviews, since none were overly obvious and I saw a cute lighthouse and wanted to go. You have to pay $15 per admission (for adults, cheaper for children and seniors(?)) to see the lighthouse. Parking is free, but...More

That's a great question! We've never counted but in total there are four flights of steps to the top. The inside steps are spiral, taking you from the first and second floors all the way to the fresnel lens and deck up top... More
