One of the coolest trail I've done. I've hiked this trail more than five times and it's always fun. Love finding the heart shaped rock.

Challenging trail - climbing over the rocks. But most is not difficult and the views are outstanding! Highly recommend. Go early - this trail gets crowded. The $10 fee is only payable via debit/credit.

Great place to go with family and friends. Can fishing, training, walking. You can relax from a city crowed and enjoy a day. River, flora and fauce are awesome

It is about an hour and a half trail. Very beautiful scenery and well worth your time to go. But there a small steep rock climb a little risky has to be careful. Enjoy the trail

Energetic walk, beautiful scenes, water falls, wildlife - deer, historic sites including a lock from the old canal days, easy parking. Crosses the Potomac - rapids.

One of the area’s best and most senic trails. Parts are a little rugged, but you can shorten it to avoid.

This is one of our favorite hikes in the DC area. You need to have sturdy shoes and be able to climb over large rocks if you want to hike the whole trail. The trail travels alongside the river and there are lots of places...More

The trail was great, though not recommended for those in flip-flops, old/young, or not-too-stable [the tow path followed by the boardwalk out to the falls are best for the later].

Part of the c&o canal trail. Many parts of this tail have camp sites. Historic and picturesque in nature.

I think it's OK to wear shorts...depends more on the weather. I wouldn't worry too much about the scrambling unless your legs are very sensitive.

Thanks everyone. We did it last weekend. The rock wall had my husband and I helping my son but other than that. We were good and we had a blast.

I think you need a car to get to both Dallas international airport and Ronald Reagan Airport . Both are around 25 mins drive
