Nice visit, fun watching the otter

Heard about DDC from others that had visited. Drove down from OCMD. We were warmly welcomed by the staff and a staffer showing a corn snake. Nice displays of early Delmarva... read more

The Delmarva Discovery Center is a combination of discovery center, museum store and visitors center. It has a nice location next to the river as you cross the bridge into downtown Pocomoke City. We were looking for the visitor center when we walked in the museum store and the woman at the counter said she was also the visitors center.... More

Heard about DDC from others that had visited. Drove down from OCMD. We were warmly welcomed by the staff and a staffer showing a corn snake. Nice displays of early Delmarva life. Nice little otter show. Learned something too. Good thing to do on a winter Saturday.

I visited the Delmarva Discovery Center and was shocked by all they had to offer. I had not known they did tours or programs for school children let alone Both Girl & Boy scout troops. I saw their new addition of the otter program and visited their gift shop and was surprised that so much offered was local all I... More

Uneven educational resource for the community. You can see they are trying - hard - to be a strong resource and to do things well. And there is success in some areas of this center. For instance, social and cultural history is represented with a focus on the working river and the working land. There is good representation of native... More

This is a small but very well done hands on museum. It gives a great look into the history of the area. The big highlight is the otter feeding. You get to the otters up close which delighted our kids. It would have been nice if the presenter had a microphone - it was rather full when we were there... More

Great rainy day visit with the kids. They enjoyed a snake feeding, pretending to steer the steamboat, the Indian village, animal exhibits and gift shop. Husband liked the detailed local history, decoys and boats. Appears to have a very good volunteer intern program for local kids. They are renovating their otter exhibit and it looks like it will be really... More

This is a small museum that focuses on the history of the area including the Native Americans, watermen and wildlife. Unfortunately, there was some construction going on so we could not see the full museum - they were offering a reduced admission because of that. We enjoyed the visit and they have a nice gift shop. We came home with... More

I recently took my son here for a homeschool program that they host once a month. For only $10 he participated in games, group activities, an outdoor hike and learning. This center is very small with very few displays and includes a gift shop. Honestly, I can't say it would be worth the cost of admission unless they were hosting... More

The museum sis quite small. We spent probably an hour there, including the gift shop. Some of the displays were closed and the museum is under construction. They do plan to have otters in the future and that would make the place much better. I think it would be better for young children. I don't think that it is worth... More

Wow, a nice little gem of local social and natural history. If you have any interest in the local history of the area, this is worth a few hours of your time. A wonderful effort by the local community to save history and to educate visitors and residents alike
