We went on a Saturday with nice weather so it was a very busy day there. Make sure to BRING CASH for the deposit box entry fee. It goes a long way to help maintain our state park trails and bathroom facilities (which were nice) There is a small parking lot directly at the Canyon trailhead. If this lot is... More

This is a beautiful area with historic significance......walking trails offer amazing views of the "Yough" River, but recovery from severe storm damage still continues.

Trails are easy to walk. You can get dangerously close to the falls, so be careful! Muddy Creek was stunning and is wheelchair accessible. There was lots of parking and trails were marked well.

Went there this past weekend for a nice winter walk. Trails are well maintained, but were snow covered and slippery. Overall, we walked the loop to see all of the falls, and got some great photos in the wintertime setting. I think we walked just under 2 miles, but had many great views.

We came to visit on a rainy day and it was wet and slippery. Even not been the best day the trip was worthwhile as the falls are amazingly beautiful. The trail is very well kept and fairly easy. A very fun activity fir anybody

The falls here are so peaceful and quaint, and there's plenty to explore! Easy stop from Deep Creek if you're there, nice place to go and roam a little. Not too challenging of a hike at all

The falls here are a must-see in Maryland. So beautiful and scenic! I could stand here all day and just watch and listen to the falls. Great for pictures too!

We took our 3 dogs for a hike at Swallow Falls in the fall and it was just beautiful. The trail is relatively short (2 miles?) and a short distance from Deep Creek Lake, so it's ideal if you are looking for a quick picturesque hike at the end of the day. If you are in the area, particularly in... More
