Restrooms at the park office. Watch for wood sticking up on some trails. Would not recommend when leaves on the ground but nice in summer.

Very generous quiet sites on the Elk River in trees with eagles flying overhead every evening. easy access to river or Chesapeake Bay for fishing. A bit tough for kayak launching, but marina worked very nicely. Loved that firewood and ice were available on honor...More

Easy walk to the lighthouse, with beautiful views of the Chesapeake Bay. Also a beautiful drive into and through the park itself.

We went to see the light house and parked at the end of the road. It is a flat gravel road to the lighthouse. The views are lovely and you might see various birds on the way. Note there is not bathroom or port-o-potty so...More

Women were the main keepers of this lighthouse. During one emergency Fannie Mae Salter had to manually ring the bell every 15 seconds for an hour. You go girl! My taveling buddies and I hiked a very easy 1.9 mile hike on a chilly afternoon...More

The Maryland leash law applies to this park. If you go online and Google dog parks or dog beaches in Maryland (or by county), you will find plenty of areas to take your dog(s) and let them run loose.
