Go for the RED

I like the white wines, but PoL rocks the RED! The events here for Captain's Club, First Fridays, and weekends are very enjoyable.

My best friend was in town visiting and I took her here for her birthday and we had such an amazing time Our tasting was $10 which included 8 wines to taste as well as a souvenir wine glass. Everyone was very nice and friendly and they have a nice little covered patio on which you can enjoy your wine... More

I went there just to check out the little public park that's there. There are a lot of butterflies when the native flowers, like coneflower, are in bloom. There's a little creek there with a kayak rental place and kayak launch.

My wife and I were out visiting wineries, lighthouses and antique shops for the weekend. Stopped in for a tasting. Located in a park it's a little hard to see if your not looking for it. Nice facilities, they have both outdoor and indoor seating. My wife prefers sweet wines while I like dry reds. She enjoyed the sweet wines... More

My friend and I stopped here on the spur of the moment and were pleased to be able to purchase a bottle of wine and drink it on their out side patio. We werent sure if they only had tastings but they did have wine available to buy and drink there. The weather was wonderful for February the wine we... More

Wine tasting at its best with the expert staff at Port of Leonardtown Winery. Wine is crafted here to perfection from imported grapes. The Wine Club offers quarterly tastings for a modest fee of $55 which includes 3 bottles of wine. The tasting room is open to public on a regular basis and live music is offered in the patios... My friend held his wife's birthday here for family and friends. We were in the covered outside area attached to the winery. My wife and daughters have been here many times before to buy the wines, which we all love --and we are pretty much in and out after a tasting or two (or three) in about thirty minutes or... More

We stopped here last Saturday for a wine tasting and listening to the Peterson Brothers play on the patio. It was our first time here. The wine is excellent and we bought 6 bottles (drank one on the patio). We had packed our own cheese & crackers and enjoyed the wine. The music was really good and they could work... More

So, it should be noted that I am a wine snob. I didn't expect a lot in a winery right on Route 5 in an area I never considered a great wine region. Well, I stand corrected! First of all, don't let the cinderblock structure keep you away - it is a repurposed old transportation building and this is someplace... More
