I visited the Washington D.C. Temple Visitors' Center while waiting for my wife in the temple next door. It was a calm, serene place. They have a few new LDS Church videos about the initial events of the LDS church. Educational and helpful.

We were here in December and the display of holiday lights took your breath away. After visiting holiday lights in Temple Square in Salt Lake City, UT, I never imagined another Temple display could be more beautiful. Definitely one to see!

Every year we visit the LDS temple during the Christmas season because of the lights, concerts, nativities, etc. This place is very family friendly, no pressure, and just a peaceful place to visit.
