I can see why General McClellan chose this as his headquarters because it is quite the perch on the hill. We live close by so we always visit on the 4th of July along with Antietam Battlefield.

We visited here after Antietam. It was unique and informative. More sick and injured stayed in the barn rather than the house. I would recommend this.

Andrew and Mike descriptions of what took place on the grounds and in the house come alive. It was a headquarters and hospital with a lot of stories to tell not to mention the birth place of modern emergency medicine and antiseptic procedure

The museum in the Pry House focuses on the medical care that soldiers received during, and after, the battle of Antietam. There are several rooms of exhibits on the first floor, and two more rooms on the second floor. The gentlemen working in the museum...More

Wonderful learning opportunity provided by historian Jeffery, and others. The Civil War Flag Corp special demonstration drew us to the Pry House. We learned so much. The curators were passionate. They were willing to answer lots of questions. The re-enactment of the communication using flags...More

Most of the exhibits are like pages from a book. It's informative, but not very awe-inspiring. The main attraction is the house itself.

A small museum with a few displays. Nice for people not familiar with the Civil War weapons and caring for the wounded but not much for someone who's been to Civil War battlefield's before. On the bright side the workers are extremely friendly and are...More
