I wish more people knew about this place. A nice museum about the little known history of aviation in the College Park area. Kids would really love it here and I think adults would definitely find it interesting.

This museum is pretty small. You will probably get through in about 30-45 minutes. Though some of the narrative is interesting, it is a small museum at a small active airport.

We live in DC and have been to the big Air and Space Smithsonian museums, which are great. However they are crowded and take a long time to visit. This little museum is a great find, and our 2 & 4 year old children had a great time. There is an area to play outside, and even a small runway... More

I was looking for a fun place for a toddler on a rainy day and this fit the bill. One of the best things about it is that it is not overly crowded--you don't have to spend lots of time waiting to see the exhibits or use the many "hands on" options. The layout has almost everything in one very... More

What I like most about this museum is that it allows children to have their photo taken inside the plane which is great for feeding the dream that one day your child can fly. Even small adults can fit into the cockpit thereby feeling younger just by visiting. This is well worth the $5. If resources were infinite or there... More

We took my three grand nephews to the College Park Aviation Museum this morning and were completely impressed by it. The youngest two, 2 and 4 years old, really loved it. There is an interactive playroom with opportunities for kids to take off and land airplanes using a joystick on a video screen. Very fun! There were opportunities to build... More

A small aviation museum proudly celebrating the history of College Park Airport being the oldest airport in the US! The airplanes they have go from replicas of the Wright Brothers' gliders and flyers, to WWI planes. Lots of hands on and interactive things for kids (low tech but effective) and they do have some info about the first Black aviators... More

This one gets four stars for the efforts it makes to be kid-friendly, not really because it is a four star museum, if that makes sense. It's a tiny place, with not tons to look at (if you compare it to the Air and Space Museum, which you absolutely shouldn't) - but they have an animatronic of one of the... More

This gem of a small museum has a dozen old airplanes, many interpretive exhibits, and enough hands-on to keep the most energetic child occupied and learning. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable. AND - the big picture windows allow for a great view of the small private airplanes coming and going from the oldest continuosly operating airport in America.
