I had my picnic lunch and this was suggested as a good place to stop and enjoy it. Good picnic spot with great views. Welcome center has nice exhibits and bathrooms. I don't think there is food available close by, but its easy on and off the highway.

This center has a mini-museum atmosphere focused on the features of the Chesapeake Bay area. There are exhibits that you can touch and some to look at. The piece de resistance is the lookout tower that gives you a breathtaking view of the area. There are restaurants nearby that serve local cuisine.

Many interesting activities occur at this site, and an interesting place for those that want to see and realize what Kent Island was in the past. A skip jack (vessel) was built on this site for the education of the locals interesting in ship building. It was an experience watching it grow....

The official name for this place is Chesapeake Heritage and Visitor Center. The building is located on the Chesapeake Bay in Kent Island (exit 41-of Rt. 50). It is also Queen Ann's County Tourist Information Center. There are two exhibits in two good size rooms in the building. Three observation towers allow visitors to view the bay and Kent Island... The exploration center, grounds and Queen Anne's Visitors Center feature interesting displays and exhibits about the area as well as helpful and friendly staff. There's a police station on grounds as well. Easy on and off the highway, plenty of parking. Bathrooms are clean.

We needed a quiet place to stop for an hour to let the baby out of the car and when we saw how much there was to do and see at the center, we wished we’d had more time. The center is run by the county and is free so it’s certainly worth supporting with your time if not with... More

While there is not a lot to do here, the place is beautiful, with a short trail and exceptional views of the Marshy Creek and Prospect Bay. Accessed down a side street (Perry's Corner Road) in Grasonville, MD, although it says it's in Chester. Good place to take your bikes and check out the back roads.

I recommend locals and visitors alike stop off here at least once to get a taste of the local area. It is right on the Kent Island Bike Trail(on the way to Ferry Point Park), and makes for a nice break, too. The attendant is friendly and helpful. You can also get a calendar of events.
