Egrets, herons, bald eagles, ospreys, tortoises, and more can be spotted at Blackwater. Sunsets from here are simply beautiful at this time of year! It is also a good time of day to see the animals, who come out to feed.

A well kept, and beautiful site to view wetlands and the animals in their natural habitat. Quiet, mostly untouched, A nice way to spend a quiet day near the water.

The view is incredible and peaceful. I could drive on the roads for hours. Need to check out the sunset and sunrise. On clear night, watching the stars is a must.

the refuge is stunning for driving, for walking, for taking pics for spending the day, for learning about the area and the wildlife..unfortunately, the staff is unfriendly, bored by requests, very unhelpful and makes the experience less than what it should be

Great fun. Stop in the visitor center and drive down Wildlife Drive. We saw a bunch of buzzards, a heron and we think a bald eagle. Cold and clear the day we went.
