We visited twice for a couple of hours while we were in the area, for a walk round the lake. The main path is well made and there are several rougher trails where the kids can expend their energy. We came very close to deer at one point which interested the kids. There is a nice, though small play area.

The park rangers and security were very aggressive. A young couple near us were visited by SIX ranger, during the afternoon, who proceeded to inspect every inch of their campsite, going through their coolers, looking through their vehicles. And for what? My friend went and talked to the fellow campers afterwards and there was nothing found and no issues? Then... More

Stayed overnight with a friend in their camper. Campground was crowded but quiet and we had nice wether. Pets were allowed in this particular site I understand they have sites where no pets are allowed and some sites for tents only. I would love to go back later in he fall to view the foliage.

We camped in the Cedar Loop with another family next to the bathrooms. Both sites were immaculate and level. Close to bathroom and far enough that it was not a distraction and other campers did not cross through our site or space. Bathrooms temperature was reasonable, not overly hot and insects/bugs not noticeable. They were cleaned and maintained regularly. The... More

It was a family of 9 that included age ranges from 6 to 54. We ate, laughed, swam, played hide and seek in the dark, slept under the stars, walked many trails, played UNO on the beach at night. We had such an amazing time that we are going back in September and we just went in august. The best... More

We live close to Greenbriar State Park and have been going there in the summer for 30 years. It has a roped off sandy beach and lifeguards in the summer months (not always, though). There is also a grassy area with shade trees, 2 pavilions (rent for a fee to guarantee you get it--take your chances if you don't want... More

Unless you get there super early. Ypu will not find a spot any where. The park is insanely crowded. Between the sound of carnival music blasting out of speakers from group to group. And the sounds of 1000s of kids. We stayed for about 10 minutes and left. It's a shame. It is a really nice park. But it is... More

We had a great day swimming at the lake! We were there on a Thursday, and it wasn't crowded. We loved that there are plenty of picnic tables and lots of shade! They have charcoal grills by each picnic table area so you can cook out. The only complaints we had were that the concession stand is very expensive and... More

Minimal entry fee collected at entry. A nice beach on a small man-made lake. It was 102 degrees on the day we visited, many family picnics going on, also a concession stand with some food available. The park is "garbage free" which means no garbage cans available and you are to carry out your own garbage...it would be fine if... More
