Arrived at 10:30 AM. Closed. Hanging sign was propped between the doors advising they would return at 2:15 PM. We couldn't accommodate a 3 hour delay. We will never return, since they are apparently actually open only by chance.

Had a great time at the cave in boonsboro. Loves looking at all the natural formations. A little chilly even in the summer. I have been going here since I was a child and my grandmother brought me here. The tour guide was friendly and informative. When you go make sure you don't touch anything in the cave. The price... We went here at the end of our Honeymoon trip June 2014. Some people are complaining that the cave is small, and that there is no gift shop. That's understandable, but although the tour was only 30-45 minutes, it was one of the most unique caves, with some of the most beautiful formations I have ever seen. More exquisite than... More

Crystal Grottoes is a family owned commercial cave located near Antietam battlefield in Sharpsburg MD. I've been in every commercial cave in PA, MD and NY, and many in VA, and have also visited a great many non-commercial caves. Crystal Grottoes is unique and different from most of the others and is well worth a visit even if the owners... More

This was a spur of the moment stop for us. My husband I and rode our motorcycles to Antietum Battlefiled and decided to take a tour. We are very glad we did. This is a smaller, privately owned cavern. The beauty is subtle. It's not commercialized like some of the larger ones are. The owner was very friendly. Our tour... More

The caverns were actually pretty good. Limestone formations. Our guide was very good. The office where the tour starts is pretty worn, in need of an update. the tour is not to long, maybe 40-45 minutes. some nice formations with the caves history. it was worth about 10-15 dollars, but cost 20. would be worth more if you got to... it may be so that you have to be a hard core spelunker to appreciate the qualities of crystal grottoes, but I was very happy with my visit. it may not be as grand as some of the other Shenandoah cavern sites, but it's quite unique, and I didn't begrudge them a pfennig. the two enthusiastic young men-- I think... We took a special trip here from Gettysburg and when we arrived I was quite taken aback by the appearance of the place. I was expecting a little more, appearance-wise, but we were there and ready to explore. But seriously...$ 20/person??? That is ridiculous for what you get, but we drove an hour and decided to just suck it up.... More

My hubby and I stopped by this place today on the way home from Greenbrier State Park after seeing a flyer. In have mixed feelings about it. On one hand, the cave was beautiful. The formations were gorgeous and impressive. For that reason, it's worth a visit. On the other hand, the $20 price per person is ridiculous. Also, our... More

Okay attraction but pricy. Luray and Skyline are a much better value and worth the drive. The guide was knowledgeable.
