The concert hall at Strathmore is outstanding. Every performer comments on the quality and great acoustics. Strathmore has a wide-range of programming from symphonic music to blues and pop, dance, recitations (think Garrison Keillor) and more....

What makes the Strathmore better than the Kennedy Center for this Virginia resident who lives closer (but only as the crow flies) to the Kennedy Center: (1) Unlike the Kennedy Center, which tacks on a hefty ticket handling fee, you pay one price for the Strathmore ticket; (2) Strathmore parking is free, unlike the Kennedy Center, where you either pay... Top level performers come here. We have seen the best baritones (Hrostovsky) best pianists (Matsuev) best conductors (Spivakov) and best saxophonists (Butman) here. We have been there many times as a family.

Our children grew up on concerts here! Great prices for great performances in an intimate space. Our kids especially loved sitting on the balcony behind the musicians where they could look down and read the music with the orchestra!

Varied programs ..I go very often..beautiful hall, good acoustics, good parking, nice cafe...I usually go for classical music concerts but they offer pop as well.

Living near Strathmore in suburban Washington, it is great to have this top-notch performing-arts facility so close. Once just a historic house where chamber music concerts were held, the 10-year-old, 2,000-seat concert hall has become a popular venue for the Baltimore and National Symphony Orchestras, as well as for dance performances and other concerts. Strathmore still has intimate chamber-music concerts,... More

One of my favorite jazz guitarists along with Scofield is Pat Metheny. My favorite music hall is the Strathmore. We took our musician friends there who commented there were no corners. The inside looks like an interior of a sailing ship one of those old types. The sound is exquisite, although in Metheny they had the piano way down. Although... More

We were seated in Row LL of the Orchestra section, which is a row of chairs at the back of the theater. These are not auditorium chairs, it's a row of individual chairs that are extraordinarily uncomfortable to sit in for 2.5 hour show. I understand that the show was sold out, but I feel strongly that Strathmore should not... More

WOW! This was a really, really fascinating performance, combining masterful juggling with modern dance, humor, and an excellent string quintet - for more than an hour of spellbinding theatrics.

Wonderful place to go for a concert. Any seat, anywhere in the auditorium has excellent sound and you can almost hear whispers.
