On a trip to Boston, my wife and I drove up the coast through New Hampshire into Maine, where we stored at this often photographed Lighthouse. The Maine coast has many Lighthouses, which could make for their own trip, but with just a few hours,...More

Really is the whole Maine experience. Has nice shop, parking takes some patience but doable,at least in off-season. House in the area are also a treat to view and wish you could have one.

Love the Nubble Lighthouse and the drive to see it. There is plenty of parking, and good one way traffic flow. A must visit for your York trip. Lovely setting for pictures.

There is a nice view and scenic panoramic photo opportunity of Cape Neddick and Nubble Lighthouse from Route 1A Northbound in York's southern end of town.

plent of free parking, plenty of massive rocks to climb around on, and delicious restaurant/ice cream shop. Caution: Rogue waves and the tempatation of those wierd occasions when the tide is so low one may be tempted to walk to it. DON'T. EVER. Located on...More

Beautiful and timeless Nubble Light. No trip to coastal Maine is complete without a visit to Nubble Light. So much history and beauty in one spot.

It's tempting to drive here. Don't. Walk. Bring a coffee and a book. Look. Listen. Sit. Repeat. We've seen all sorts of sea birds. We've watched sunrises and sunsets.

This is a very short drive if you are staying in York. It is a beautiful location and an interesting lighthouse with lots of history. The ocean and the waves are breathtaking especially if it is at all a windy day. Such a pretty spot...More

We visited after a storm and the waves were still high. It was very cool to see the Maine coastline, the waves and lighthouse in the background. Short and sweet visit.

I was there in December for the lighthouse lighting, so I’m not really sure. Sorry I couldn’t be of any help.

I looked around a bit and couldn't find an exact answer to that question. I would think they would come when the sun is down? Just a guess.

Don't think so. Again, you can't actually tour the lighthouse, but the grounds around it are cool too. It's probably a dusk to dawn type hours.
