Second time visiting. Nice ride around park. Plenty of places to pull over for scenic viewing. Biking and hiking trails also.

Whether you stay in your car or get out for a closer look, you can feel the power of the ocean as the waves thunder into the rocks. It's a beautiful sight. You can see different viewpoints of Bar Harbor, the lighthouse and rock beaches as you drive the loop. Lots of people park and walk along the road. Restroom... More

Drove to schoodic Point and felt I had finally seen the Maine ocean. All week waters have been calm but here there was the roar of waves. Was able to climb across rocks to get a bunch of pics. Seagulls were friendly also. Worth the ride!

This is a very, very good campground. There are not too many sites and the sites are brand new. Beware-no showers! This is a beautiful place.

The Point at Schoodic Head offers a view across the water to Bar Harbor and the Lighthouse. At night, the stars are brilliant, because there are no land lights to diffuse their glow. It's a breathtaking sight day or night.

There is no better place to watch the waves crash against the rocky coast of Maine. Could sit there for hours listening to the waves crashing against the rocks. Plenty of place to explore. Not as crowded as Acadia NP so this is a great place to escape to.

Two vans, two spotting scopes, 25 pairs of binoculars, 8 hours of memories. Guided by Dr. Brian Olsen, we spotted Harlequin Ducks, Horned Grebes, Black Scoters, Surf Scoters, White-winged Scoters, Common Loons, Buffleheads, and so, so many more. Although cold, the plentiful places to stop and get out of the car along the Schoodic Road to check the surf and... More

I went in late October so it was too cold to get out and enjoy the entire area, but I loved what I did get to see! Every way you look is more beautiful than the last. Can't wait to get back to other parts of Acadia National Park to do some more hiking!

There is plenty of parking available at Schoodic Point so that you can see some of Maine's incredible coastline! There are several information boards explaining the stone making up the shoreline and talking about what you're seeing (or might see). The day we visited was drizzling so the sky was overcast and the view was hazy. But, it did make... More
