Mansell took me by surprise by being slightly more strenuous than anticipated, but it was worth the sweat to get to the top. The best view is right before you clamber down and then up final ascent to the summit, and boy was it beautiful!...More

There are a couple ways to the top, moderate or difficult. There is also a scenic easy trail along Long Lake. This lake is very beautiful.

I have hiked all the trails in Acadia over the years. This one is on the quiet side of the island. Not a busy trail but if you want alone hiking, this is the trail for you.

It offers stunning panoramic views, challenging and varied terrains, idyllic pond walks and no crowd. Loved it.

We opted for the trail along the pond and then up to the summit. We were rewarded with a beautiful view of the distant bays and mountains. Plenty of wild blueberry bushes along the way.

Although we didn't finish the full path around the mountain we did love the views, the quiet, and cool shaded path. The breeze was very strong on our trip so layers were good to have on. There were many places to sit on rocks and...More

You will appreciate this hike even if you are not an avid hiker. There are about 4 trails up Mansell and the views from the top make it well worth the effort.
