This place is a treasure with everything from WW2 ship building to 30s and 40s schools. See the various "neighborhoods" of SP and the o so good research area. And a great gift shop. Best of all....admittance is free! !

The staff is always friendly and helpful. So many beautiful pictures and exhibits of South Portland through the years. Buglight Park borders the museum as well as the Public boat ramp, great place for the 4th of July, watching the fireworks acrosse Casco Bay!

This is a wonderful little museum. It has a nice amount of information about South Portland. I was there looking for information about the Liberty ships that were built in that area.

Located at the gateway to Bug Light Park, the South Portland Historical Society Museum is indeed a gem of area treasures to be explored and enjoyed. Docents will greet you and lend to your enjoyment and knowledge. Admission is free and benefits abound!
