We visited the auto museum on a wet afternoon and were pleasantly surprised at how good it was. The exhibition was extremely interesting and the story of the auto wars was fascinating. Some lovely vehicles too. At $6 for an adult its excellent value.

This years exhibit was about the car wars; whether to allow cars on the island or not.it was a very interesting debate. The cars on display were from 1900 - 1920 and most were beautifully restored.

This museum is a little hidden but it was great to get away from all the hustle and bustle of the nearby busy towns of Bar Harbor and Ellsworth! And the admission price were great! I highly suggest this museum!

Stopped in for a visit while vacationing nearby and what a surprise! Today must have been special with antique and vintage cars outside (and in), people to talk to and coffee and sweets inside. There are washrooms, a small gift shop, areas to sit and...More
