Very interesting museum... Lots of things we never knew. Great for young and old alike! Quaint small city setting right on the water.... Lots to see and do in the area too

Great museum, lots of exhibits, very helpful volunteers who provide a ton of background info. 20 acre campus, food on site, super clean restrooms Plan on spending several hours. Pass is good for any 2 two days in a 7 consecutive day period.

small museum. made me want to read up on stories from lighthouse keepers from the past. Lots of models and examples of different lenses that are used in the lighthouses. Fans of lighthouses should add this to their itinerary if in the neighborhood.

Learned a lot about the history of lighthouses, not only in Maine. Nice place, lots of interesting exhibits. May not be especially good for kids, it's very adult oriented. The gift shop is nice, too. The building also houses the Rockland Visitor Center.

The museum has a lot of information and great items from the past. There are 3-5 friendly people there to explain everything to you. There are two educational films you absolutely cannot miss. One is on how the technology worked in those days and the other one is a documentary on the 70 lighthouses of Maine and the people who... More

If lighthouses are your thing then this is a place that you will enjoy. Nice collection of old artifacts, fresnel lenses etc... Nice gift shop too. The chamber of commerce is next door so you can get some good information, maps and pamplets there so that you can explore Maine. I thought this museum would have been a little larger.... More

At first when we walked in I wasn't sure how good it was going to be. But we were glad we did. We learned a lot about light houses and the various lights used. Very interesting and laid out nicely.

We really enjoyed the lighthouse museum. Excellent description of Fresnel lenses and what determines the various orders. Good videos about lighthouses. Plan to spend two or three hours if you like lighthouses at all.

Great collection of lighthouse memorabilia and information. Reasonably priced and staffed with friendly people. Beautiful location on the water in downtown Rockland. We enjoyed learning about Maine lighthouse history and the families which staffed them.

This museum has a variety of lighthouse elements from the old to the new. It is in a smaller space than it used to be and you can go through the entire museum in an hour or less. Great for a break from downtown shops. Won't disappoint.
