One of my favorite childhood memories is walking the breakwater and many years later I still love it. Year around this is a favorite walk.

The walk is approximately a mile long and is made of granite slabs. The light house is not what you would normally expect of a lighthouse in New England. The only thing you should think about is - there are no bathrooms.

We enjoyed our walk out the breakwater to see this lighthouse. There are lovely views of the area and the lighthouse is nice. Be sure to read about the construction of the breakwater before you go.

No. The pathway is constructed with large granite blocks which are irregular shapes and have gaping cracks between each block. It would be impossible in a wheel chair. It is also very difficult for anyone with a walking... More
