Outstanding variety of fresh fish, seafood, caviar and smoked salmon artfully displayed. I was fortunate to be waited on by Chris who provided expert advice and packed my perishable purchases with great care. Wine and cheese selection excellent. Would like to see the Browne Trading Company open a branch in DC.

Whenever we are in Portland, a trip to Browne Trading Market is a must. Before we head north to the mid-Coast, we try to get a tin of caviar, some blinis, creme fraiche, smoked salmon and capers. What a wonderful appetizer combination. While they have more than a dozen kinds of caviar, you can be quite satisfied with a reasonably... More

Browne Trading Market is a destination for foodies. The smoked salmon is superb. The wine selection is chosen with great care and is the best we have encountered, yet at least, in Maine. It's a mecca for caviar enthusiasts, in case you have a lot of spare cash to get into circulation. We are happy to have discovered it and... More

I was so disappointed! A critically acclaimed fish monger that should know better than to carry FARMED SALMON! Food coloring, antibiotics, hormones, pesticides! WHY with all the wonderful SUSTAINABLE local fish around. SHAME ON YOU!

Browne Trading Company is a high end provider of fish, seafood and caviar. The quality is exceptional. We try to stop by before we head up the coast, where you can't find caviar. We have also had Browne Trading ship to DC for special holidays. Always a hit when we are in Portland.

In preparation for our weekend in Portland, ME we went online and researched things to do. One that came up was Browne Trading Market and their Wine tasting on the first and third Saturdays of the month from 1-5 p.m. On Saturday, February 1st, we entered the store and approached a gentleman that was behind the wine counter. Told him... More

Beautiful fresh fish and delicious prepared fish salads. Some upscale grocery items, gourmet chocolates and cheeses, packaged smoked fish. Rotating hot foods, such as lobster mac & cheese. Wine shop in the back with an extensive selection. Knowledgeable, helpful, and polite staff. Spotlessly clean.
