We visited Portland on a cruise and spent our day out on Peaks Island which is a short 20 minute ferry ride from the harbor. It was a totally wonderful day. Once on the island, we rented bikes (Brad's Bike Rentals) and made a trip...More

We had an outstanding day taking the ferry from Portland to Peaks Idlsnd then touring the island by walking. May people rent bikes or golf carts but the island is small. Four mile walk around the perimeter. For us the weather was perfect so it...More

There are many options for cruises out of Portland, but our group chose the 3 hour "Mail Boat Run" which stops at a number of islands. Beautiful scenery and you can get off the boat at a couple of the islands. Very nice and priced...More

Fun day--small island and short trip but fun. We wanted to go to another island the next day but heard mixed reviews and that some islands were "private". Not a lot of information regarding the other islands.

Our family and friends really enjoyed the ride across Casco Bay to Peaks Island. This was a fun way to see the island and enjoy a day on the water.

Enjoyed the mailboat ride across Casco Bay to the many islands there. The boat delivers more than mail, people get on and off the islands and packages and freight are also delivered! The ride is narrated and you learn quite a bit about the area....More

Not sure which we would like better, we took two tours of the Casco Bay Islands. The mail boat tour is a real value and opportunity to see at least the coast of a few islands. We also took the ferry to Peak's Island and...More
