Try the mailboat tour because you get an overview of the entire bay . This gives you an idea of both fishing boats out as well as tourist just out on the Ferries. Stopping at Cliff Island with the welcome of mail delivery to folks...More

We took the ferry to Peaks Island which was a short trip. It was a beautiful sunny calm day and not very busy because out of season so we didn’t reserve a cart and easily rented one. It was well worth doing. Absolutely stunning views...More

From other reviews and websites, I must have gotten a wrong impression of the islands and purpose. The ferry ride over was very nice and fun, but once we arrived, everything was located on one block, an ice cream shop, a restaurant or two, a...More

If you’re in Portland, go to at least one, if not some, of these islands. The ferry is convenient, inexpensive, comfortable, and the views are fantastic. You can get off at one of the little islands, hike, eat, go to the beach, or do nothing,

Were love in Portland, and if we want to feel like we're on a great vacation, w hop the ferry and go out to the islands. Walking, biking, dining, ice cream. In fact, our daughter's wedding was on Peaks Island, and was amazing.

So far as I know, there are no reservations for trips on Casco Bay Lines ferries. You need one ticket per person to board. They're taken just before you board, after waiting in line to board. Tickets are round trip. In peak... More

I have no specifics for Peaks Island, but in general, rental costs on the Casco Bay islands, like elsewhere, will vary with the season (high, low, shoulder).
