We did the mail run cruise. We were out on the water stopping st different islands for over 3 hours. The captain narrates the trip as long as there are more than 10 people on the trip. He has great information about the different islands....More

We chose to ride the mail boat for the afternoon trip. This is a working boat that delivers mail and other items to the islands in Casco Bay. It was so interesting to see the people from the island gathered at the dock waiting for...More

Go! Go to Peak's island, rent a golf cart for 1 hour, and drive the 4 mile loop around the island. Or, better yet, pack a lunch and plan on eating on the beach/rocks on the back side and plan on staying 2 hours. The...More

We took the Mail Boat in the afternoon. It is a tour that takes you to many of the islands that are inhabited and allows one to see, especially in season, the great variety of vessels motor and sail is also a constant stimulant. Be...More

There is not an orderly line for getting on the ferry - you will not be in queue and must push your way on to the ferry. We were the last 10 that didn't get on the 10:15 am ferry, stayed in line and about...More

The ferry was clean and well organized. The price was great, and it was a nice view for the short trip across to the islands.

So I got tickets to see Bob Marley perform. I look at the location. Peaks Island...where the @#@@# is that? Ahh...about 3 miles from Old Port. So it looks like we need a ride. Casco Bay Lines did a great job! Ferries run well and...More

I have been on lots of harbor cruises, usually they set you back a bit. Not Casco Bay Lines! Frequent trips, easy on and off and a gorgeous way to take in Portland and the Bay. Nice way to see the sunset, bring your own...More

A beautiful day in Portland, we chose to cap it off with an afternoon exploring the waters and islands around Portland. We selected the mail boat run for a couple of reasons 1. it gave us an opportunity to see a significant portion of the...More

We were a little nervous about taking a car on the ferry, but it was great. We went to Peaks Island, so it was a short trip but we enjoyed it. Seems like two people + our car was around $62 roundtrip. Very enjoyable trip...More

Yes..you can catch the 10 am departure. I don't know where the cruise ship tender will drop you off but it can't be too far. No food on the boat...just a couple of vending machines.

Peaks is by far the best bet. It is a 20-min or so ride each way from terminal and dock. It has public restrooms (other Casco Bay islands don't). It has a wilder side (east) and a tamer side (west). It has places to get food... More

If you go on a music cruise, there is a bar. You can bring your own food. There are many restaurants and bars within a 5 minute walk to the ferry terminal, so you may chose to eat before or after the cruise you take.
