A must see if you are in the area. Phippsburg is a very quiet town and there is not much to it. We went to see the beach when it was quiet and not open yet. I can imagine this place gets very busy in...More

The sandy beach combined with outcroppings which we could walk out to made this a perfect beach day. The tide roared up onto the rocks as we sat in the sunshine. In the distance were two lighthouses. I wished we could have gone out to...More

The water is cold but the beach is beautiful and big and easy to walk. And you will be rewarded at the end with a private house and lighthouse to photograph or just admire. As the tide goes in and out the beach changes by...More

You won't hear about Popham Beach from many people, even once you get to Maine. I found it because of an old navigation system I had on a car. (Of course the the newer version of that car has a worse navigation system.) When I...More

We build a driftwood fort, and visited the tidal pools. The beach is marvelous for running and going for walks.

Even on a cool fall day, this is a wonderful place to visit. The beach area is wide and scenic...lots of elbow room, and a good walking beach. Has the feel of a special place.

Loved visiitng Popham Beach. It was a cool, slightly overcast day and the ocean was just like you picture it should be. I don't know if the tide was in or out, however, we walked quite away out to walk the edge for good distance.

Sand, sand, sand. The beach is more than 3 miles long. Shortly after the season the bath hose was open. We took our 2 year old grandson and he had a ball playing in the gentle waves and sandbars.

We are staying in this area for Memorial Day. I would like to do some fishing from the shore. Does anyone have any suggestions of where it might be good? I hear fishing for stripers is good.
