Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a must do in the region. The trail is 3 km long (very short in my opinion), going through local vegetation, rock formations and the river that becomes the Waterfall. The waterfall is spectacular (nothing more to say). Our guide, Ossy (not sure I am writting that corectly) was very kind, and adapted the tour to our needs and interests. Totally recommend.

The trail to get to the fall is a little over 3km. The last part is the hardest, down the rocks. But when you find yourself inside this cauldron, you will forget the difficulties. It’s a huge fall and it feels like the water is held in this pan-shaped pool. Absolutely marvelous.

OMG! This was the BEST waterfall ever during our 8-day trip in the Chapada. No pictures can explain the feeling of having to finish the trekking in the water, swimming through the canyon. Absolutely amazing. I can't believe so many people go to Chapada and do not see this because "too far down from Lençois". Here is a suggestion: move round and sleep over in Igatu and Mucugê. This is avoid doing so many kilometres there/back to/from Lençois. A MUST SEE and FEEL.

This is the best waterfall experience that we have ever had. You are required to have a guide to enter the park. Our pousada in Ibicoara was able to arrange an English- speaking guide, Andre, for us. You first hike through various ecosystems until you reach a few smaller falls. You then jump in the water and swim through a canyon until you turn a corner and see the falls. Wet shoes are not necessary, as you can leave your bag and shoes at entry spot (not secured, however we even felt safe leaving cameras behind, as all guests are accompanied by guides). You are able to climb up on rocks behind the falls. Just a beautiful experience. This area is very rustic - unlike Lencois. The town, Ibicoara, has very few food choices, but we were able to eat great meals at our pousada, Pousada Kabana de Pedra.

A must-go place. If you are staying in Lencois, you will need 2 days. It is so beautiful that I recommend not to go first, or the other attractions will look not so attractive.

It is worth trekking to Buracao Waterfall. It is a very high waterfall and there are flotation life vests included in the admission fee. You can only go there with a guide, what makes the trekking far more secure. It is very refreshing to have a bath there.

It was probably the most stunning scenery I have ever seen in my life.
It was a hassle to get there though but definitely worth it. We drove from Lençois to Mucuge and stayed the night there. The highway was really dark and scary so I don't recommend driving during the night, I found very dangerous.
The next morning we drove to cachoeira do Buracao, we had to walk for about 1 hour to finally get there.
The waterfall is unbelievable, you don't imagine to find such a thing while you're walking in the middle of a deserted flora.
This is a MUST!

A wonderful place with a delicious waterfall bath. The access is done through a beautiful canyon that you can cross swinging. Floats are obligatory and supplied by the park administration. A must go place in Chapada Diamantina

It is not located in Lençois and you need a tour guide to enter the park. However, it is the great experience I had when visiting the area.

Hi,
we want to get access to Buracão. We are traveling from Itaeté to Barra da Casa dos Negros. Possible to reach the falls from there or do we have to enter via the north entrance?
anybody knows a guide which we can book from Itaeté?
Ibicoara is to far away
