Kind of out of the way, but worth the effort! There's always something great on tap, test batches from their workers - along with their regular line. The tap room is small and can get crowded, but on weekends they open up the canning room for overflow. Great beer!

Visited on a Saturday in December 2016 and we had a really nice employee give us a fantastic tour. Forgotten her name but she has been with Baxter for a couple of years and had just made a small batch of her own beer with seaweed. She was incredibly knowledgeable and really fun to talk to. After our tour we... More

I had tried the Baxter brews a few years ago in the backpacker variety pack and was not impressed. However, when trying the brews in the taproom I was pleasantly surprised. The small batch beers were great especially the smoked lager. Highly recommend and can't wait to come back in October.

I stopped in by chance on a Thursday evening. I sat at the bar and tried their everyday brews. It was a nice selection and they were well built. Each one had good flavor and felt good in my mouth. I tried their small batch series and was impressed with how random these beers were. PB&J Stout was one of... More

The brewery is in a repurposed mill---in fact, there are dozens of old mill-turned-new-businesses in Lewiston. Small tasting/drinking room out front seating maybe a dozen people. Looks like they give afternoon tours--and privately arranged tours. We just stopped in for a look-see and a flight. Okay beer. Looked like a fun place. Might be easier to buy their stuff at... More

This little gem was worth a stop on the Maine beer trail. It's hands down the best IPA I've had and surprisingly, it was from a can. The Brewers will passionately educate you on why a can is better than a bottle. Aside from being socially responsible, it maintains the beers freshness like..as they put it...a mini keg! Brilliant!

Baxter Brewing - great product, historic location, super moose logo- what's not to like? Let me tell you. Our visit on July 18th may have been on a bad day based on other reviews but it happened nonetheless. The beeristas were indifferent, not engaged and self-consumed. After ordering three flights of beer for our group the beerista explained the abbreviations... More
