The sand is white, the beach tapers so gradually into the water. When the tide is out the beach is massive, but closes up considerably when at high tide. The view of the landscape is typical Maine. Parking if free after Labor Day, otherwise you...More

Stopped by during a visit in late August. Temperatures were around 70 during the day, with water in the 60's. Our 12 year old son enjoyed splashing around, despite the cool temperature. Beach itself was relatively simple, not very sandy, and no real amenities.

Real nice beach and taken care of really well. They comb off the seaweed so it's not everywhere like some beaches. Just a quick walk yielded me seven sand dollars. It was pretty cool. And the waves are too big for the kids.

You can easily walk or bike here from town, just cross the bridge to Kennebunk and head straight on Beach Avenue. Pretty houses and a sweet fairy garden point the way. It's worth stopping at the Franciscan monastery to take in the grounds. Once you...More

The beach at Kennebunkport is a beautiful place, and it allows you to escape the crush of people in town. The tides varies a lot from high-to-low, so you'll see something new each visit. Also, if you look hard enough you will find free parking,...More

This place is just great. Its big without to be crowdy. Water is cold but not cold enough to discourage swimming. Waves are strong enough to provide fun to surfers, while still okay for children to enjoy. When one is aware of the required parking...More

loved the time we spent sea glass hunting and relaxing at this nice beach. Parking is a challenge so getting there by trolley is best.

I don't think there are very many dog friendly beaches in season. Maine is our go to place off season because it does get very busy in the summer. I do know many people who rent homes through VRBO and have had great... More
