Overview
More
Nervous Nellie's is a cottage industry (jams and chutneys made with mostly Maine fruit) in a cottage. It's a sculpture studio and acres of whimsical sculptures and installations of American icons like the general store, the juke joint, a western town complete with saloon, sheriff, jail, Chinese laundry, fortune teller, church, Grail castle and wizard's tower all made in Peter Beerits's quirky style, using re-purposed "junk" from the island dump and countless old barns. Little ones enjoy the sandbox under a grape arbor, while parents relax in Adirondack chairs close at hand. Try free jam samples in the shop or have a homemade scone with jam in the tea room. Something for everyone here!

We went on a recommendation of a local person. I am so glad we stopped! Such a unique place. The kids loved Nellieville. A little town that they built. Super cute! The shop was great with their homemade jams and jelly’s. The staff was so...More

This is a very unique place to visit and am so glad we went here. It's definitely other-worldly. It would be a great place to bring kids to see all the different displays and the amount of work that went into them. We took time...More

Not only will you pick up fine selections of jellies, jams, and preserves, this is a very entertaining place, especially for kids. Also very photogenic to the camera buff.

This isn't about jam or jelly. They do have it and we bought a couple but mostly about the sculptures and buildings. This place is amazing and wonderfully fun to wander around and just stare in awe.

Hard to explain this place. Combine a stop here with a trip to the public tour at Haystack Mountain School on Wednesday afternoons for an extra great day. You can explore the village in front and more outback. Your mind may be blown. Kids will...More

This kept popping up when I searched the area but I kept ignoring it because I'm not really into jam or jelly. I only ended up going because we had some time before our boat tour. I am so glad I went, this place is...More

A funky junky ambience, with the most gorgeous luncheon-plate size white hydrangeas blooming on a plant in an inconspicuous corner...and not much evidence of jams. Definitely worth a look because you probably won't see the likes of its dioramas and scenes again. But, uh, don't...More

Nervous Nellies is amazing. A lifetime of eclectic and eccentric art work covers a wooded area and surrounds a homemade jam and jelly shop. You'll find a little "town" complete with a saloon, general store and barber shop. Further into the woods you can discover...More
