The book store is fun and very diverse but the cafe' was dirty. the garbage can was overflowing and most of the staff was kind of in their own world. I was one of three people in the cafe at the time and no staff member thought to clean the area. Coffee was good though.

When I came up to Maine, I used to go to the bookstore in Brunswick at Cook's Corners. That one sadly closed some time ago. I was happy to find Maine Coast Book Shop in Damariscotta and drove on over there today. Interesting books, lots of nooks and corners to explore. They have a nice art supply section, which is... I stop in each time I visit Damariscotta. I go for the Mocha Latte. While in line I usually spot some baked item that is screaming to be eaten. I'd rather not attempt to eat and drink while walking the sidewalks, especially during tourist season. So, I find a seat to use the wi-fi for a bit. When done I... More

I am a lover of books and coffee and was visiting a new area of Maine. After passing through Damariscotta I knew I had to stop. The village is beautiful alone but the bookstore is phenomenal. I found so many new authors and series I wanted to read! Bought more than enough books to carry me through the rest of... More

Friendly, quaint little cafe where you can enjoy a good cup of coffee and have some lunch or snack. Relax and read or use the internet. There is a nice book shop there as well.

I was surprised at the wide inventory of books in this combination bookstore/coffee shop. Damariscotta is not a large town, but it must have a very literary population to support a bookstore of this size and range of reading materials-impressive in these days of dwindling bookstores. The staff there were very friendly and helpful. Kudos to them!

We loved the old building filled with a grand selection of books, gifts, etc. We wish we had more time to spend there. The staff was very helpful, too. We had just had lunch, so we didn't experience the cafe.

This bookstore is always hopping. They have regular visits from authors, great little you section, outside seating, Wifi and a coffee shop. Always a relaxing visit.
