You can either walk or drive but excellent views from the top looking out to Penobcost Bay and Camden area. The walk is worth it as shade provided all along track via trees.

Mt. Battie is a good novice - intermediate hike and, we felt like a moderate walk, so it was perfect. The Park offeres other trails to different summits as well. Definitely worth a visit!

Fantastic views of Camden and Penobscot Bay, even on the rainy overcast day that we were there. Observation tower provided a good view of the colorful hills to the west.

We stopped here while driving highway 1 from Portland ME to Bar Harbor ME. It's $12 to drive your car to the top or you can hike to the top (not sure if the price is the same if you walk up). It was worth...More

Doesn't begin to compare to the great hikes we had in Acadia on Mount Desert Island. And because you can drive to the top it didn't feel so special to have hiked it! But the new is the best you can get of the harbor!

Everyone will tell you to go up Mount Battie for views of Camden,...and they are right. It's a fantastic point of view and if you look the other way you see the mountains beyond. There are trails in the area as well, but we did...More

We couldn't see the great view because of the fog, but still had a good time walking around the top of the mountain and going to the top of the tower. The views are certainly amazing without fog.

Went on a foggy damp day with the dogs. What amazing views even with some fog. Walked up the monument and even more stunning views. Highly recommend the trip up.

A must-see. Easy 10-minute drive out of Camden, around $5 entrance per adult. Easily accessible by car. The view is breathtaking and the air crisp.

We took the auto road because we didn't have the right shoes to hike. $6 per person is well worth the money. There were plenty of areas to view the gorgeous fall foliage view of Penobscot Bay below! Many trails lead way to gorgeous views...More

The road is paved, two-laned and 1.5 miles in length. Tour buses and motorhomes can climb/descend it with no problem.

It usually opens in May and closes after Thanksgiving to cars. You can always park and walk up the road year round.

There is a parking lot so you may always park and hike up the mountain year round. No sledding hills that I know of but the town owns a ski mountain called the snow bowl that you can sled at.
