The climb up was worthwhile. It has beautiful views. Families can spend afternoons picnics. A beautiful environment for relaxation in the afternoon weekends.

We visited on a summer Saturday afternoon and easily found parking. We had a brief wait for the climb up the lighthouse, but the docent chatted with us and we learned a lot. The view from the top was not necessarily that much better than...More

A special birthday celebration brought us to Maine all the way from Alabama! We will never forget our visit to the Pemaquid Point Lighthouse! The beauty and the historical significance truly impacted us! We also enjoyed the quaint restaurant and gift shop too!

This lighthouse was voted by Mainers to be on the state quarter. While I did enjoy our quick visit, I am not sure it was worth the long drive off of Route 1 or the $15 entry fee ($3 pp). It doesn't take long to...More

This is an easily accessible lighthouse (for those of us who get seasick at the mere mention of a boat ride out to another lighthouse!). Small museum, VERY dedicated volunteers who will tell you as much as you want to know ;-) - but the...More

Check out this awesome view and climb on the cliffs to the sea, tide permitting. One of the very few remaining fourth order Fresnel lenses still in use. The adjoining Fisherman's Museum is also noteworthy.

There is lots to do here. The centerpiece of this location is the Pemaquid lighthouse which was featured on the Maine state quarter which was issued in 2003. The lighthouse which is retired is open to the public. There is a $3. admission fee which...More

I visited Pemaquid Point Lighthouse twice, both times to catch the sunset. It is beautiful and a great place to photograph.

I discovered Pemaquid about 30-35 years ago, and have come back to visit every once in a while since then. It's a beautiful and deeply scenic location, with stunning ocean views and a very pretty lighthouse. Kids and adults will have a great time clambering...More

We liked this place so much that we want twice while staying in Boothbay Harbor. One time at sunset and another in the afternoon. The rocks leading down to the water are lined from centuries of water rushing over them and have an almost hoodlike...More

Since we were "tourists", I am not aware of a season. I believe the lighthouse to be open all year around. Of course, some winter storms may cause a temporary closure. Hours are "day light" hours.
