A Puffin-watching cruise is kind of like an ocean-going treasure hunt… you just never know what's going to show up! As we travel through Boothbay Harbor and search for all the marvelous sea creatures which call this area their home, seals often surface near the boat, or can be found sunning themselves on the rocks. A loon flies by. A Minke Whale surprises everyone with its sheer size and bulk. And, of course there are lighthouses, which we know as permanent treasures here on the New England coast. As the boat gets to Eastern Egg Rock, everyone is up and looking around for those pint-sized little Puffins. We scan the rocks and the skies, and then someone shouts, and lo and behold there is a group of Puffins sitting in the water, bobbing up and down, perhaps 50 or 60 feet from the boat. More fly by, and soon someone spots a bunch sitting on the granite boulders along shore.

Relaxing trip out to the nesting ground with informative tour guides and friendly staff. Once the boat left the harbor it started raining quite heavily, but the boat does have a cabin with indoor seating. My group braved the top deck with rain coats and we were rewarded with spectacular views of Puffins all around us, with one even flying... More

3 hours to relax, sit back, and enjoy the beauty of Maine. This trip takes you up the rivers, passing lots of homes, lighthouses, and all the way to Bath, where we saw two newly completed Navy stealth destroyers...which look like futuristic vessels. Very interesting commentary by our captain. It was a beautiful day on the water. They do have... More

Their boat is a great platform for photographers looking to get action shots of seals and puffins. Very accommodating crew. Vessel is quite stable and captain was quite accommodating of the needs of photographers with large telephoto lenses.

Took the harbor cruise, the boat went too slow and hardly saw anything. The only thing worth seeing was the lighthouses, saw two close up. We could have seen the other one had the boat gone a little faster.

The Puffin tour was just the right amount of time, we did see puffins and the speaker from the Audubon Society was excellent and well-informed. I think the tour should emphasize to participants that hey ought to bring binoculars, which many people did not have. This would have enhanced their experience. I did remember to bring mine, but ended up... More

We enjoyed the cruise. Crew was friendly and had a lot of knowledge of the puffins and other birds. I enjoyed the ride out to Egg Island and seeing the lighthouses from the water.

Enjoyed the cruise, the lady from the Audubon society was very good telling about the Puffins. I was a little upset however when we arrived at the pier to get our tickets for the cruise. It cost me an additional $20 for parking. Any public parking was good 10 minute walk away,so they have you over a barrel. When I... More

We drove 2 hours from york, me just to go on this trip and were not disappointed. I was very impressed with the captain's knowledge of the surrounding area and enjoyed learning about the lighthouses, towns and boats that we were seeing. He even pointed out some porpoises and a giant sunfish at the surface that most of the people... More
