The good: The aquarium is devoted to local sea-life so, if you've never seen the creatures in Maine's coastal waters up swimming up close (other than lobsters), this is a great place to go. The staff are very nice and more than willing to discuss...More

We chose to visit the aquarium right when it opened at 10 AM on a morning that was overcast since we couldn't sit by the pool. After visiting the Oceanarium two days prior in Bar Harbor, which was a disappointment, we were so happy we...More

This is a wonderful place to sit on the grass and watch the boat traffic go by. On the other hand, the aquarium itself is really geared toward young children - not much there if you're out of elementary school. So go to the grounds...More

The touch tank is great. The place is small, but well done. The volunteers are knowledgeable and helpful. The lobster explanation is very informative. The coloring etc. room has great displays while the little ones are busy making sea monsters! Don't pass up the chance...More

It's small but packs a lot in. The lobstering explanation is good for youth and adults. They the some unusual colored lobsters and you can pet a live shark. Some adults would go thru this place in 30 minutes kids more time is needed

Do much to do and too little time! Paintings, models, half models, lighthouse lens inside. Historic shipyard outside eith the Bath ziron Works as a backdrop. Highly recommend.

Very nicely done really small aquarium. Informative staff and fantastic touch tanks. See sea stars and scallops interact. Touch a dogfish shark. Great view.

Stopped on my way out of Boothbay Harbor with my 8 year old grandson. He loved the touch tanks. The exhibits were somewhat limited but nicely done. There were also several interactive question boards, which he enjoyed. Entrance fees are very reasonable.
