Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens is a natural wonder on 270 acres of shorefront in mid-coast Maine. Strolling through spectacular ornamental gardens and traversing miles of waterfront and woodland trails, visitors are delighted by the beautiful plantings, impressive stonework, waterfalls and fountains, and scenic views. It's no wonder the Gardens have been hailed as one of Maine's top three attractions. The Gardens are open 9-5 April 15 - October 31 (open until 6 pm in July and August). There is a cafe and gift shop on site. A visit at any time is a memorable experience.

I've visited a lot of botanical gardens, and this one was a cut above. Even though it was October, the gardens were still very much alive. However, the highlight for me was the area where children (of all ages) can build a fairy house, using...More

We went a couple weeks before Christmas on a Sunday evening, so the place was packed. Hopefully the experience is different when it's not so close to the holiday. The lights were beautiful, but the experience was hardly worth it because there were too many...More

Thank you for giving us your feedback. This was our third year of this event and this year we experienced some extremely cold weather. Because we had a policy that all tickets were valid any night of Gardens Aglow, people tended to all arrive on...More

This is a peoples garden opened to the public in 2007, so it is very young, in comparison to many better known botanical gardens. It sits on the shore of an Atlantic Ocean bay, so it exudes the aura if being a transitional property. They...More

We visited a couple of days after Thanksgiving. The Christmas lights were just beautiful! Dress warm and wear comfortable footwear. It's best to buy your tickets in advance. The hot chocolate was delicious and a few other munchies were offered. Well worth the trip!

You can arrive in Boothbay Harbor but you would need to pass under a fixed bridge to get to the Gardens. It is tidal water so the clearance under the bridge varies. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to call... More

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to avoid crowds but special attractions and guests are most often on weekends. It's really a large area so there should not be much crowding other than the ticket line and delightful restaurant.
