We hiked both of the trails to take advantage of the scenic views along the peninsula on Back River. The trails were basically forest floor with some rocks and roots - easy hike on both trails. The vistas along the East and West sides offered...More

A nice walk through the woods - but we can get plenty of that at home in Vermont. The views of the salt marsh and river were too few and, sadly for us, were only sporting seagulls when we were there. Had been hoping for...More

What a peaceful, calm setting, and a gorgeous walk through Maine woods. There are two sides to these trails, we only did the east side. About half of this 1.5-mile walk is along the Damariscotta River, with its various vistas, lobster pots, etc. A walking...More

This is one of the best hiking trails in the Boothbay area. Make sure you do both East & West. It's great for all of the family. we are so lucky to have the Land Trust here.

We hiked the double loop and stayed on the trails by the water. The views are beautiful and the hike is easy to moderate. It would be nice to do the hike near high or low tide to watch the water rushing in or out....More

Nice trail for a morning walk. Some mosquitoes to deal with, but certainly no worse than we have at home. There are two sides to the trail, East and West. We only walked the East loop. It's nice that the main trails are loops so...More

My family and I hiked Oven's Mouth and believe that there are other much more family friendly trails available such as the Gregory Hiking Trail. The Boothbay Region Land Trust offers many different excellent hikes of varying levels. My young family found this one more...More

As part of the local Land trust this is their best walk with nearly 5 miles of varied trails and water views. There are two points with water on all sides and connected with a 90 ft. arched bridge. There are many charming spots for...More

This place is a must-see! Great intermediate hiking, along tidal channels, mud flats, natural forest, and steep, rock-faced ledges.

Pretty scenery, quiet, medium-strenuous hike. No flat areas. A real "walk in the woods". Some water views. Really enjoyed this hike.

Check the tide schedule before you go to maximize the beauty of Ovens Mouth. Parking is free, trails are well marked/traveled.

I've been here twice and have seen couples, joggers, doggy-walkers, and women alone.
