This was the first bridge of this 11 day leaf peeping excursion. This one is particularly nice, sitting in the woods. Easy access to get down to the river for photos from different angles. The views across from the bridge were incredible.

Visited during our Fall Into New England trip on a weekday so we were the only people here. Plenty of water flowing in the river to make it pretty but not so much that we couldn't play in the stream bed and get some great photos. Nice little parking area at the bridge. We spent about 30 minutes taking photos... More

Make a point to swing by - just a few minutes from Bethel. A winding road thru the country side takes you to the well marked bridge. Time your visit to hit the bridge when the water is flowing which will definitely enhance the experience. Low rainfall in the summer and early fall made our timing off

Leaf peeping gets better with a covered bridge to walk through and sit down. The fall colors reflect perfectly on a sunny day in the reflection of the river. There are trails around, but for my pace just sitting at the bridge opening and wandering across the bridge was perfect. Easy parking and pretty accessible.

It was a pretty place to visit on the way somewhere else. I wouldn't plan a day around this location.

Easy to get to from bethel. Nice spot to picknick and relax. The bridge is well kept and the stream below appears well stocked with trout.

We love visiting covered bridges in Vermont and Pennsylvania, Sunday River Covered Bridge is a nice addition to our list. Pay particular attention to the peg and beam construction as well as the four iron rods that run from the base to granite blocks and the two long iron rods on the up stream side that attach to granite rocks... It's still in pretty good shape. The original build didn't have any screws or nails in it at all, it was all done with wood! Of course, there is metal in there now to touch it up since it's such an old bridge. When we went a couple was getting married right there. Worth taking 5 minutes to go see... More

I love the fact that the bridge is still standing. It has been preserved at this state. No longer being driven over but the nature around is just so pristine.
