Seen best from the water or from the parking lot at Cook's Restaurant, one can see how the cribbing of enormous granite blocks allowing for exceptionally high tides or storm surges to pass thru them.

This is a great place walk across to views of Orrs and Bailey Island. It is a historical bridge where you can view the ocean and the harbor. While we were there a common loon and common elders were fishing near the bridge which was interesting to watch.

What can you say? It's a landmark bridge . It has a good foot traffic walkway. It was rebuilt a few yrs ago. It is if I am correct one of two in the world.

I read that this is the only bridge of its kind in the country but I read another place that it is in fact the only bridge of it's kind in the world! That makes it even more interesting! If you're not driving, drink in the details of the scenery. If you're driving, watch the road! This is a very... More

The entire Bailey island drive is nice, this adds extra. Kinda amazing when you see it. Worth the short drive. If you are hungry and want to see a view across the water. Eat at Cooke's.

This bridge was the view from my room at the Bailey Island Motel. I went on a boat ride under the bridge and was amazed to see all the granite that had been stacked to form the bridge. I was told that there was not one means of connecting any of the granite. It was all stacked to remain that... More

A nice easy drive to Bailey Island ends by crossing the cribstone bridge. It is amazing when you look at its profile from the water or Cook's Lobster House nearby

One site you don't want to miss. You can drive across the bridge or park on either side, but you need to walk across. You need to see the view. Exceptional!

This bridge, built to allow for tides to go through and connect Orr's and Bailey Islands, was rebuilt a few years ago to the original specs. Don't miss it!
