Laura is open daily from 9:30AM - 5PM except for major holidays. The first tour of the day begins at 10AM with tours beginning approximately every 40 minutes thereafter until the last tour of the day at 4PM. We really enjoyed this tour. It was interesting our tour guide was Karen. She was well versed in her knowledge of the plantation without sounding rehearsed or memorized.

The tour guide was extremely well spoken and informative, bringing the family members alive. It was very interesting to hear how a plantation was run during the time os slaves.

My wife and I had the guided tour of the plantation. We learned the history of the plantation along with getting an insight into the personalities involved in is creation and development. This is not a large plantation, but the more intimate setting added to the experience. This plantation is recommended over Oak Alley for anyone more interested in the... More

Stopped by there on the way to Oak Alley Plantation. Wanted to see it and compare. Our guide Cameron was really nice and knowledgeable and told us the history in a way that was really easy to listen to. We are glad we visited this creole plantation, we enjoyed it. The admission is $20.

Very well preserved and lots of history. Katie, our guide, has only been there one week but knew the information and was almost intimate with the families that ran the plantation.

We toured Laura after touring several other plantations in the area. Laura, as a creole plantation, was extremely interesting. The tour did a good job explaining the family, what their life was like, how the house was put together as well as the life as a slave on the plantation. They have some of the original slave cabins remaining. I... More

Excellent young tour guide who knew her stuff and made a strong point of giving the slaves' view of life on this sugar plantation. See this in conjunction with Oak Valley a couple of miles down the road.

Laura Plantation provides a wonderful history of the Creole plantations in Louisiana. Our guide Ethan was one of the best guides we've ever had, articulate and knowledgeable! The gift shop had a great variety of items including a wonderful choice of books covering a wide variety of topics relative to Louisiana!
