We found this "Little Nugget" by accident and what a surprise it was. Inside the church was the TRAQUAIR MURALS which are painted on the walls around the chancel. Also there is the story of Phoebe Anna Traquair the artist, and the paintings are fabulous....More

It was a very pleasant surprise to find some Pheobe Anna Traquair Murals in this little church and not far from the Blacksmiths or the Brewers Arms for a refreshing brew after a pleasant walk.

When I think of frescoes in a church I tend to think of the paintings adorned with gold and icons that you might get in many orthodox European churches. Well I had another think coming - these are not old fashioned or stuffy at all....More
