Thank you for your kind review. It is important for all monuments to history be revered, good and bad, so that future generations can learn from what happened before them. It is a fact that the land battles of The War Between The States ended...More

Sadly, over reactive people will see that this lovely thing is removed someday soon. Shreveport was the capital of the Confederacy after Richmond fell so it only makes since that monuments of this type would be found in the city. They say it will take...More

While it's an important entry into the catalog of "Lost Cause" artwork that sprung up between 1900-1960 as a direct response to black people gaining more rights, its placement in front of the Caddo Courthouse creates a very odd dichotomy and for many undermines the...More

In front - North side - of the courthouse. A granite monument to Confederate Leaders. You can still see the embossed names a bit, but time has worn off some of the stone.More

You have an agenda against the Daughters of the Confederacy by making such a comment about this magnificent monument. This sculpture has been tenderly cared for over the past 113 years and recently was cleaned and restored at a cost of over $10,000. It is...More

Nice to see a confederate monument that hasn't been taken down due to some ridiculous political agenda. Ok, that's all the politics I'm gonna bring in to the review. Seriously, it's a nice monument and the court house grounds in general are something to look...More
