This is one of the hidden gems of Shreveport. Its open every day except for Monday. They always have a lot to look at inside along with all the paths outside with beautiful flowers and waterfalls along the way. Highly recommend this place for the entire family and its free to the public ,which is always a plus.

Having grown up in Shreveport ( in the 60's and 70's) I visited Norton's as a child. I drive past it daily, and decided to pop in. WOW! I never realized there were such treasures right in my own home town! Worth more than one visit- you could do paintings one day, sculpture another, silver and porcelain the next... And... More

Why I never visited when I lived in Shreveport, I have no idea. What a treasure. Amazing Remingtons and Russells (world-class collection), amazing/unique/unsusal pistol collection, terrific art pieces of multiple genres (except weird modern abstract.) Except for one VERY LOUD younger woman who works there and insists on TALKING LOUDLY, it's a very quiet, peaceful place full of beauty. Highly... More

The Norton Art Gallery is one of my favorite place in Shreveport, LA. It is a museum for men as well as women. It features an antique gun collection and sculptures by Russell and Remington. This one of my favorite museums of all time. I have been to England, Ireland, France, Italy, Spain, Australia, etc. and it still ranks with... More

This was an unexpected surprise! Kudos to the Norton family for making their extensive art collection available to the public at no cost. Great variety with many oil paintings and bronzes by a variety of artists including Remington and Russell. Absolutely worth a stop.

DH and I were in Shreveport for two nights. We had no plans to visit the R.W. Norton Art Gallery, but TA reviews piqued our interest. This place is amazing. Considering there is no entrance fee - wow, just wow. The place is huge. Wear comfortable shoes. We did not make it all around the beautiful grounds. The azaleas were... More

This amazing place is here in Shreveport, La. I've heard that it has a 2 billion dollar endowment. World class art, guns and dolls right here. Like taking a trip to Paris. Take a few hours and enjoy some art and history. Located on prime real estate in the heart of Line Ave. The gardens are worth the trip!

We loved this gallery and grounds. The artwork was wonderful. We were lucky to see school children being taught an appreciation for art. The kids truly seemed interested and engaged. The grounds were extraordinary and in full bloom. Could not have been more pleased with our visit.
