Great for History Lovers and Fun for Kids

We took our 6 and 8 year old boys to the Fort, and they loved it. I think anyone that has a love of history will enjoy Fort St. Jean Baptiste. The video is very informative.

Recreation of original fort. They had you a returnable booklet giving a map and historical data about what you were seeing. I found the map confusing and I wished this had better signage.

Welcoming building is very clean and informative. Walk back to the fort recreation is easy and there are several things to see along the way. The guides dressed in period clothing were very helpful and knowledgeable. The cannon display is always something fun. Easy and relaxing way to spend and hour or two.

It is very educational and fun. I love history and if you do too, then you should definitely check this out. They have it set up as part of an actual town

Learned a lot about the area and Creole history. It was a nice walk to the fort, transportation is provided for those who cannot walk that far.

I enjoyed this very much! They have a museum and a very good DVD presentation on the history of the Fort and local people of the area. They have a reconstruction of the original fort made from blueprints found in France. Awesome, and they have people dressed in period clothing explaining things. It was a beautiful day, when I went,... More

It's a self guided tour with a booklet they give you. The price is really affordable, especially since I was doing a Stay-cation. the Lady at the front Desk was very friendly and pleasant. It's not a far walk to the Fort. There are small area's on the way that were for show. maybe during the year they have a... More
