We drove out hours of our way to visit Natchitoches Historic District, after reading a travel article about it being a must-see stop. What they forgot to mention is that you shouldn't go on Sunday. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING is closed on Sunday, except a handful of restaurants. We'd stayed at a hotel off the interstate and drove into... More

We enjoyed walking down the main street of the Historic District. We met a young woman at the information center who was very helpful. We were there before several shops were open (early morning). However, everyone we met was friendly--a nice change. We think it's a trip worth taking. The riverfront stroll was relaxing and entertaining a the same time.... More

Beautiful shops along the River Front. We stopped into all that were open. Some sadly were not & we tried more than one time on those. Friendly people along the way in the stores we shopped in. Although it runs only a few blocks it's a beautiful area to walk along.

The Historic District is exceptionally special architecturally and the restaurants offer local specialties. Fortunately, it is well preserved and the area along the Cane River Lake is gorgeous. Very picturesque. The shops were mostly botique clothing stores and souvenir shops stocked with things bought at wholesale market. The same things found everywhere else in America and many things made in... More

Many women's boutiques. Several collections stores, a great kitchen shop filled with coffees, restraunts and a corner coffee shop.

My wife and I recently visited Front Street in Natchitoches Louisiana. We arrived around eleven o'clock in the morning and found the street beautifully decorated for the Christmas Holidays. There were lights hung from all the street poles, trees, store fronts, bridge, I'm mean everywhere you looked there were decorations. And a beautiful Christmas tree fully decorated as well. We... Only a few shops open on Christmas eve. The shops that were open were very helpful helping us find items we wanted.

Great place to shop. You get the feel of old French-Cajun atmosphere. Lots of unique shopping and restaurants to try out.

Had a great time shopping in all the stores. Bought several items at several of the stores. Very reasonably priced and everyone I came in contact with was very friendly and helpful.
