A very nice State Park on the North Shore of Ponchatrain. Nice nature walk and good picnic and bathroom facilities. There is also a nice pier out over the water.

The shore line cottages were awesome. Clean and quaint. Sitting on the porch in a rocking chair watching the sunset with New Orleans in the back ground was just what I needed. The other facilities that the Park had available for our training were perfect...More

Paid $3.00 per person to enter the park and there was only 10 minutes worth of things to see. I understand it was the end of November but why do they charge when its out of season. seems like it would be the place to...More

Such a nice day to go riding into the park and to see beautiful old trees and hanging moss and the highlight was the two baby fawns. It was so nice of the park to let us in for free because we are 62 and...More

We come here all the time, often riding our bikes from Mandeville and into the Park. $3/person but you can buy a year pass that is worth the money. Lots of trails and the beach at Lake Pontchartrain.

Great park with walking trails that lead out to a dock where we saw a couple of gators in the water. Had a nice picnic at one of the many tables scattered throughout. The men in the visitor center were so incredibly knowledgeable about the...More

Great place for camping. They have camps over the water for rent but you need reservations in advance. The park has a large water front on Lake Pontchartrain besides the wooded forest.

Used to be a pool there a long time ago. After hurricane Katrina, they took out pool, built nice pier, beach, playground and splash pad but no pool anymore.

there are many trails. the beach has no life guards so it really doesn't close. the park entrance closes about 9 (I think) but if you are camping there is an entry code. so this is only a problem for day visitors
