No museum, just apartments

Thought there was a museum but just a couple of historic markers. I believe the buildings are apartments for state legislators now.

I haven't been inside, but it is an interesting architectural style. If I'm not mistaken, its the office of the Lt. Governor.

The barracks are nice to visit. The stories about the history it can tell us is a wonderful thing. Although it seems never to be open to the public it's a lovely place to take wedding portraits. Just walking the grounds makes me feel like I've walked in the same steps of those there many years before me. I like... More

Don't miss this if you are sightseeing in Baton Rouge. There are interpretive signs that help explain how this barracks went from military uses by the French, British, Spanish and the Confederacy to being used by students in the earlier days of LSU.

We found the pentagon barracks, but there wasn't anything to do or see once we got there, so we just walked on past the building. Maybe it's just closed on Saturdays?

Great place to stroll or just sit back and enjoy. You can feel the HISTORY ooze out of this place. Do a little research about it and you will enjoy it that much more.

History buffs will like to visit this place, but otherwise theres nothing to see. I know a state senator that lives there. If you can get in to see one of the legislators apartments do it they are nice, your tax dollars at work.

If you find yourself on River Road in Baton Rouge keep your eyes out for the historic Pentagon Barracks. You will not spend a lot of time here but the history behind barracks is intriguing. Believe it or not the site has been used by the British, Spanish, French, Confederate US Army and US Army. What I thought was unique... More

It was interesting, that it was very old and pentagon shaped. However, one side is missing because of flooding. Also, it's been turned into low-income housing. So it felt very very odd to be walking around looking at someone's apartment building. We didn't stay long.
