Myself and my family had a tour in Jim Corbett National Park during Dec 21. Saurabh Garg (9958993316 and 9899954675) of Travel Gleam Wild arranged our tour program. I shall write about forest rest houses in Dhikala zone. It is the main zone where one should have a night stay inside the jungle. After entry by Dhangari gate you have four choices to stay. Sultan FRH,Gairal FRH,Sarpduli FRH and Dhikala FRH . There is another guest house called Khinanauli which you cannot book online. Dhikala is the main centre where accommodation is maximum. Electricity comes from outside as well as solar panel. But in other FRH only solar panel is the supply. So you have to be conservative about consumption of power. You cannot have room heater. Second large is Gairal FRH beside Ramganga river. It has 8 accommoations. We stayed at Sultan FRH.

The park has 5 zones and each zone has a different entry gate. Dhikala and Bajrani are the most sought after zones since the chances of sighting a tiger are most. Permit is required to visit any zone. Permit can be obtained online in advance. Jungle lodges run by the government are located inside the park in each of the zones and are available for booking online. However, getting these is very difficult because of limited number of lodges. One can book these forest lodges and stay inside the jungle upto 3 nights max. Staying inside the jungle automatically entitles one for the jungle safari of that zone.

A gypsy need to be hired against each permit for the safari.

For Dhikala zone, there are two safaris - a canter safari (16 seater) or a gypsy safari. Gypsy safari is allowed only if you are staying inside dhikala forest lodge. For people who are staying outside the park and have obtained a permit, canter safari is the only option. Dhikala zone is the most beautiful and chances of spotting a tiger are maximum in this zone. The canter for Dhikala starts from PNG college Ram nagar and heads towards dhangari gate which is about 1 hour ride in the canter. There is a break of 30 mins at the gate during which permits are verified. Washrooms and eatery is available at the gate. No external food is allowed except milk (and stuff like choclate) for young children.

From the gate, the canter heads towards Dhikala forest lodge which is about another 1.5 hours from the gate and is a very bumpy ride.

I visited both Dhikala and Bajrani zone. I saw spotted deers, elephants, sambar deers monkeys, langoors.

Bajrani is also a beautiful zone but nothing like Dhikala. The visit to this place is very soothing to eyes if you enjoy being in middle of nature.

I would like to visit again.

Jim Corbett National Park is part of the larger Corbett Tiger Reserve. It lies in Uttarakhand's Nainital district. Corbett's magical landscape is well-known and beloved for its tiger richness. We went deeper into the Dikala region to see tigers face to face. You should not go if there is no cellular coverage in the district of Dikala. We must use candles at night. When you spot a Tiger, it is important to be quiet.

First of all, I want to thanks team TravelGleam Wild for their immaculate planning and the knowledge about the Corbett Tiger Reserve.

I visited Corbett with my family with Tiger in my mind and my wish came through when we sighted a tiger in Bijrani zone. This was on our wishlist for a long time and we decided to go on a Good Friday long weekend.

We had a good family time where we relaxed, had meals together and some nice evenings to enjoy together as well.

Lastly, Sourabh (9958993316 , 9899954675) from Travelgleam Wild was amazing and booked Bijrani zone for us at the last moment as per the current sighting update, and that evening was one of the best for us in the wild.

Thanks Travelgleam Wild !!

We booked a ride for the Sitavani zone which was a terrible experience for us. It was a total waste of time and money. We could see only a peacock on the way. This zone is too much crowded which made it impossible to spot animals. I would suggest NEVER BOOK FOR SITAVANI ZONE.

Jim Corbett is huge park with various flora and fauna. It is one of the oldest national park . We visited dikhala route but couldn’t see tiger . We saw deer , monkey , elephant amd lot’s natural beauty. People suggested that stay in the park in night increases the chance of tiger visit .

Well it was a very nice outing to spot the tigers but we were not lucky enought to spot them we came across freshly made pug marks of the tiger . We could sight the Jackals, the jungle cat, wild fowls, elephants, deers, nilgai, and reindeersin abundance. But it was very exciting when in we could hear the callings in jungle lingo.means the tiger is some where near but we're not able to see one. I would suggest you should take Safari just to get the feel of the jungle.
