Since we planned to drive from Ashland to Paintsville on the Country Music Highway, it seemed like a good idea to stop at this tiny museum next to the tourist office in Paintsville where we got directions to Loretta Lynn’s place in Butcher Holler. There wasn’t much to see on the Highway (Rt 23) which was a disappointment, so this... More

A small but very delightful museum. Memorabilia from famous country music artists that are from the area. Small entrance fee of $4 - was money well spent. Pleasant staff and extremely clean and tidy. Sorry we did not visit on Thursday. A local waitress said the live musical performances on Thursday are wonderful.

Thank you Jeremiah! Our host and guide through the exhibit. For a small fee we were able to see quite a bit if memorabilia from all the local county artists in the area including Chris Stapleton. We saw a great interview with Loretta Lynn about the making of Coal Miners Daughter. Loved it very much. Jeremiah was so kind and... More

This is a small and fun museum. We felt the entry fee was worth it, even if you only casually like country music. We watched the Loretta Lynn movie, this helped us get excited to drive to her birthplace.

First we did the museum tour in the afternoon with a wonderful lady; believe her name was Joanne. The tour was quite good but my favourite part was the video clip with Loretta Lynn -- what a remarkable lady! In the evening, we returned for their Thursday night "Front Porch Pickin" at 7 pm; $3 a person and well worth... More

Some information about artists that we knew and some we didn't. Joanne made the who trip worth while as she was willing to share information and stories about the museum/artists that you wouldn't read on your own. No doubt they will outgrow this place in no time. Nice gift shop.

Really interesting the artists that come from this area. Didn't realize Chris Stapleton wrote for so many Grammy Award winners and songs we all know.Staff was super helpful and encouraged us to stay overnight. But was moving on.
