I don't want you to think this is the end all be all of railroad museums, but it is a good museum. We were only there about 45 minutes, but have no regrets buying the tickets and spending time there. Our little RR buff enjoyed it.

I was there on a Sunday when the internal museum was closed, but i just loved looking at the Train and Railcars that are on display by the harbour wall. So great to see these old trains being preserved

Thank you for your review. The train display is owned by the City of Paducah not the Paducah Railroad Museum. Sorry, we were not open when you were in town so you could actually see the Museum and give us a full review. More

This is a small museum and is therefore necessarily limited, but there are displays that would interest railroad fans. Probably the most interesting item is an interactive freight train simulator called the Freight Train Learning Lab that puts you in the engineer's seat as the simulated train travels along the rails, and requires responses to signals and other situations. Unfortunately... More

Thanks for your review. The "simulator" is one of our most popular attractions. We do try to allow as many people to experience operating a locomotive as time allows. We will be upgrading the simulator to make it more accessible for those visitors who have difficulty with mobility and upgrading the computer itself during January and February while we are... More

This is a small museum but it had everything a train buff would like. Very clean and the kids can see a Thomas the train set up. They can also see a HO train set up too. Both adults and kids can see up close and personal what it feels like to be in the engine part of the train.... More

A good selection of collections on display and a fun video to watch and learn. There is also a train engineer simulator so you can experience the handling of a train engine

I went on a Thursday, and the train excursions were not running, so I cannot comment on that portion of the museum experience. I think that I would have enjoyed the museum more with a trip through the local countryside on a classic train. The experience begins with an indoor exhibit hall featuring a very nice model train layout. It... More

Hello, I think there has been a misunderstanding or you have reviewed the wrong site by mistake. The Paducah Railroad Museum does not have excursion trains. Many museums do, but we do not have any track to accommodate rolling stock. We also do not have a WWI reconnaissance car. We do have a simulator and model train layouts. We also... More

The railroad musteum is a one-of-a-kind place where visitors will be enthralled with information regarding the contribution of the railroad to the advancement and productivity of America's developing way of life.
